POST- MENOPAUSE
Post Menopause, or after-menopause, describes the years of a woman’s life after menopause occurs, the Second Spring. Once you’ve experienced menopause, this final phase lasts the rest of your life.

What Are Common Symptoms of Post Menopause?
In early post-menopause women usually experience one of the following groups of symptoms.
-
Feeling reenergised, more empowered and self-confident and wanting to exercise more vigorously.
or
-
feeling sluggish and emotionally stuck, experiencing lethargy and low mood. They may have more weight gain, especially around the midriff, which puts pressure on the heart and they may spiral downwards emotionally. Obesity, clinical depression and low self esteem can all lead to longer-term health risks.

Once you enter menopause, your body produces much less oestrogen, an important women’s hormone. As a result, you may be at higher risk of developing certain health conditions, such as osteoporosis in women (weakened bones) or women’s heart disease. Those conditions are connected to oestrogen levels in your body.
