Community

Writer: Sophia HowardSophia Howard

Fear breeds separation, separation breeds fear.

Community (a sense of belonging) however, is fertile ground for compassion, kindness, love and support.

I was reminded this morning of the importance of choosing your community/tribe - being around like minded people and how our spirits are lifted by coming together.

If your community/tribe breeds fear and separation - CHOOSE ANOTHER.

That doesn't mean we have to place ourselves/our health at risk during these uncertain times.

If we feel we need to self isolate, do not do this out of fear and separation, instead choose to do this from a place of compassion and courage for ourselves and others.

We do not have to isolate ourselves mentally, emotionally or spiritually.

If we are separated physically ensure you keep those connections open with your community/tribe - whether that be friends/family/the online community/your religious/spiritual group - but choose wisely.

When you connect with people who are good for you - you feel it, it lights you up from within.

Compassion, kindness, courage and love are not lessened by sharing, these qualities grow within us and around us when we share them freely.

Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu

May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.

Om shanti, shanti, shanti
