How do the daffodils know when it's time to bloom? There is an unspoken rhythm to nature we cannot see. There are the familiar cycles of the seasons but subtler than that, the trees and flowers can feel their environment, taking cues from the earth, knowing when to rest a little more and when to emerge and bloom, knowing the time to produce nectar for the bees - contributing to the cycle of life.
Do the seeds and shoots resist the effort to push through the earth? Do the petals of roses resist opening? If they do, they don’t express their full selves, they don’t fulfil their potential or purpose in the great web of life. Dying prematurely their potential and beauty hidden and never revealed.
Enlightenment grows only in the soil of innocence. Innocence means childlike wonder and awe. The enlightened person is one who is continually wondering!" Osho
It's science but it's also magic, certainly worth awe and wonder. If it was so easily explained and proved scientifically, why as humans haven't we realised we too are part of this beautifully, intricately connected web of life. Why don't we 'know' how to sync our lives with the seasons, how to pay close attention to the right timing of things, to connect and live in harmony with the world around us? It takes belief, trust and quieting the ego, recognising we are a small part of something far bigger, far more magical than our individual selves. If only we would stop, pay attention and rest in the present moment, with awe and wonder, for the magic and our part in it.
All our actions in life are essentially to avoid discomfort.
How would it feel to ride that wave with intention and alert awareness - what possibilities could that present?
Resistance causes suffering, active surrender welcomes magic. Passive surrender has no direction and no purpose, whereas feeling and embracing the flow, with mindful attention is connecting to life. And redirects all that energy we were using to 'resist'.
It feels like a form of magic when we trust the energy of life, trust the process and trust ourselves to move into the unknown.
Each breath is magical, each day not yet lived is magical, each connection to another living being is magical. This moment, this day, this life, is full of magic if we are ready to be in awe and wonder.
This month, we will use our senses to really connect to the present moment, to be open to seeing magic in the familiar. Breathwork & Meditation
We will use practices to still and quieten the ego-mind, cutting through the illusions it presents us with on a daily moment-by-moment basis. Mudra and Mantra
We will practice lots of hip and leg work to connect us to our earth and water elements but adding lots of twists and core work to awaken us out of hibernation and fully into the energy of spring! Asana & Savasana

I hope you'll join me on the mat,
